Happy 4th Birthday to US!

Sunday was our fourth birthday, but we didn't get a chance to properly celebrate until last night. Dad made us a Stinky Goodness cake in the shape of a 4 and Mom put a party hat on me and gave me a hug and took a picture with me. Aslan wasn't willing to wear the hat this year. I get it with the hat. It took some convincing for me.

This is our Stinky Goodness cake. We usually eat Natural Balance wet food, but Dad needed a pate to shape it so he got us a different wet food. This one was chicken and sweet potatoes. We ate all of it!

Mom with me. Look what a good boy I was posing for a picture with my party hat on!

Aslan and I were good to share our cake, although after a lick or two Dad did split it onto separate plates for us so we weren't too crammed together trying to eat our cake.

Mom and Dad were saying how they can't believe it's been almost four years since we joined the family to give Maggie some company (and someone to hiss at). They tell us all the time that we are good boys, even when Aslan knocks everything off the bedside table or I claw at the couch.

Belated Birthday!

Oh Dad is in big trouble! He got distracted with helping Mom with her play and totally forgot to do Josie and Huggy Bear's birthday celebration! Guess who is going to the pet store to get some stinky goodness today?

Yin and yang
Here are Josie and Huggy Bear giving Dad the stink eye for not making a huge big deal about their birthday. I mean, sure it's MY blog, but someone's got to help me type. So it's no my fault...

So Josie and Huggy Bear turned nine on September 15. I really can't believe they are nine, or that we've even lived in Columbia long enough for them to be nine. Time is going by so fast! I have become a better cat because of my brother and sister. Josie joined the family first. Huggy Bear was a foster who stole the hearts of all of us with his kind nature and amazing purr. They helped me learn to cuddle and purr and eat treats, and for that I am very thankful.

We'll all be getting some extra treats for sure tonight!

(On a side note, if you are typing quickly and get off a letter, Bear becomes Brat, which he is not.)

11th birthday stinky goodness cake

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! It makes my day so special and enjoyable. I am so blessed to have such great friends in my life.

-----

It was a few days late, but we finally got to enjoy my stinky goodness cake!

Jasper's stinky goodness cake
The cake was very yummy, and, as usual, in the shape of the birthday. The 11 was easy for Dad to make. I was pretty quick to help myself t the cake, so the 11 got messed up pretty quickly.

Jasper's stinky goodness cake
I was enjoying the stinky goodness so much that Dad didn't even make me share. He opened a second can of food for the others.

Huggy Bear and Maggie enjoying some stinky goodness
Huggy Bear and Maggie are nice enough to eat next to each other.

Josie enjoying some stinky goodness
Josie wasn't too far away, but it's best to give her a little space so she can enjoy the food without Maggie stressing her out.

Happy birthday Josie and Huggy Bear!

Happy birthday to my wonderful sister and brother Josie and Huggy Bear! I can't believe they are eight years old! My how time flies (so fast, that I missed posting this on their actual birthday on Saturday ... oops.)

The Trio
Here we are back in the day, when Josie and Huggy Bear were still tiny and recently came to live with us. You can see how happy I am to have a new brother and sister. My life has gotten so much better because of having them around.

Hair band wrestling!!
They were very cute and playful kittens. Josie and Huggy Bear were two of four kittens that Mom and Dad brought in to foster and find homes for when we lived on our apartment. Mom fell in love with Josie the minute she saw her. (Yes, we loved Huggy Bear too, but there was something about Josie that reminded Mom of Fluffy who came before us.)

Look how little he was...
It's hard to imagine Huggy Bear being this tiny, since he grew into such a big mancat, but he was originally my little buddy. He's still the friendliest, lovingest cat in the house. And he still purrs the instant he enters the room that Mom and Dad are in.

This weekend was very busy with the show at Mom's theatre starting, and Dad going to see Neil Gaiman speak and hosting two of the other participants in the event. To top it off, our fridge went on the fritz. Fortunately we have an extra refrigerator in the garage that is now stuffed. So we'll be getting birthday cake later this week when live gets back on track.

Thanks to the Cat Blogosphere for always being there and remembering our birthdays, even when we get behind and (almost) forget. As always, you are the best bunch of cats out there!

Maggie's birthday cake

It's a little belated, but here's some pics from Maggie's birthday cake for her seventh birthday. I still can't believe my littlest sister is seven!

Maggie's "7" birthday cake
Maggie got the first taste.

Maggie sharing her birthday cake with Jasper
She was nice and shared with me. Then Dad divided the cake up into bowls for the rest of us so no one hogged all the Stinky Goodness.

It is our tradition to get a birthday cake in the shape of our year. Being the oldest, that means my cakes will just keep getting bigger!

Stinky Goodness cake and gifts

So as is our tradition I got my Stinky Goodness cake in the shape of a 10 for my 10th birthday last night! As an added bonus, Mom diced up some chicken to go along with it.

Jasper's 10th birthday cake
Here I am licking the juices off of the cake. It was so good.

All four enjoying some Stinky Goodness
Then I shared it with my brother and sisters. You can see I stay up on the counter so I can eat in peace. I'm not much for competing for food.

Jasper and Maggie checking out the nip
I don't play with toys a lot, but Mom and Dad know I like a good scratcher, so they got me a new wavy scratcher from Target, then loaded all our scratchers up with nip. Maggie and I really liked the nip!

Josie on Jasper's new scratcher
You can see I even shared with Josie. It's good to share -- a lesson from a mature mancat. I also got a toy mouse from Aunt Tiff. I plan on hunting it later... it has an elastic string to hang from the door, and I love to chew those in half!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. My cat friends make me feel so special!

Stinky Goodness Cake

We had our traditional Stinky Goodness Cake for Josie and Huggy Bear's birthday back in September. They turned seven, so they had a 7 cake...

The 7 cake
Huggy Bear was first to check out the cake.

All three enjoying the 7 cake
But it wasn't long before Josie and Maggie joined in. We were all very good and shared the cake on one plate. Well, except me -- I got my own.

Jasper enjoying some stinky goodness
This was a different Stinky Goodness, and it hit the spot. Maybe we liked it even more because we've been eating healthy, light food, so to have some full-flavor Stinky Goodness tasted so good. How good was it, you ask?

The stinky goodness cake was nose-licking good
It was so good, it was lick your nose good! Thanks again for all the birthday wishes. I can't believe it is October already! I can't wait until we get to help Mom and Dad carve pumpkins!

Thanks for the birthday wishes

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, for Huggy Bear and Josie last week, and those who saw it was Dad's yesterday. I started to post something, but then Dad hogged the computer and Mom was busy working and wouldn't share her thumbs (I wish I had thumbs) so nothing go posted. But Dad is 39 now -- really pushing 40. He told Mom he wants them to jump out of a plane next year for his birthday. I'm not sure how I feel about that. But he has plenty of time to forget or chicken out.

Happy Birthday to me!

Today is my birthday! I can't believe I'm turning nine years old. This is my last year in single digits. Mom and Dad said we'll have a party tonight with stinky goodness cake for us. I can't wait! It really seems like just yesterday that I was being adopted by Mom and Dad. I picked them the second I saw them and made sure that they knew it. The rest is history. And now that I think about it, I've spent more than half my life as a blogging cat -- wow! Thanks for sharing all this time with me.

You say it's my birthday!

Happy Birthday to me! I can't believe eight years ago I was born in a shelter in Moline, Illinois. I was the last of my litter to be adopted. My mother was a Manx, and Mom and Dad have decided my dad was a Maine Coon, which explains why I'm so big and like it when it is cool outside.

Jasper's 8th birthday "cake"
As is our tradition, I had a stinky goodness birthday cake in the shape of an 8. I just had a little nibble of it, then I shared it with Josie, HB and Maggie. My birthday wish is that everyone have a wonderful day. (Isn't celebrating my birthday a better way to spend this day, instead of thinking about taxes?)

Happy 4th birthday Maggie!

Well there's been a lot of buildup, for sure ... an entire week's worth. And I think Maggie is pleased with what she waited for. Monday, after Mom and Dad's friends left, Mom and Dad headed up to Charlotte and visited IKEA. They had been looking at these cool tents there, and decided Maggie needed a new one.

So here are Maggie's cool 4th birthday presents!

Maggie's new tent
Here's Maggie first checking out the tent. They say it's a "pup" tent, but we're sure it's a cat tent.

Maggie checking out her new hangout
It didn't take Maggie long to get settled in and check it out.

Maggie inspects her IKEA tent
I think she likes the cool camo/cat design.

Maggie stretched out in her new tunnel
Mom was afraid the tent wasn't girly enough for Maggie, so she got her a pink cat tunnel too. Maggie can stretch completely out in the tunnel and still be inside it.

Maggie breaking in the new tunnel
But Maggie likes to be ready to pounce at all times, especially from a tunnel.

Maggie in her IKEA tunnel
She did relax from "pounce mode" long enough to curl up and show off some other tunnel features, like the side entrance.

Jasper in the new tent
Maggie was also nice enough to share her tent with the rest of us. Here I am blending into the orange camouflage.

Thanks to everyone who has been coming by during the last week and giving Maggie birthday wishes. She has really enjoyed having a week all about her. Tonight we'll be getting her official stinky goodness cake (while Mom has her birthday cake too -- it is Mom's birthday also).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGGIE and MOM!

Easy Like Sunday

Wow, is it almost 5:00 p.m. already? At which point does this just become a Monday post? This was a very easy Sunday because today is my Dad's birthday so we all stayed up late last night enjoying the company of friends (and by we I mean Mom and Dad, because we meaning the cats were cautiously observing things from a distance and avoiding four-year-old Gracie and 18-month-old Clara Ann, who did a good job of giving us treats, but also chased us some). So we all slept in some, then napped during football. We were very happy because Aunt Tiff came in town, and she's one of our favorite visitors. We're going to go back to napping, I think, and pick this up tomorrow (I know, not even a picture). I have big plans for this coming week, though...

Birthday party

Since Monday was Josie and Huggy Bear's fourth birthday Mom and Dad made them a big 4 out of wet food (a rare treat for us) and we had a little birthday celebration. Mom and Dad were going to go out and get them presents but we had a crazy storm and they didn't make it to the store, so that'll be later in the week.

Huggy Bear and Josie's 4th birthday "cake"
Here is the 4 birthday cake. Dad's getting pretty good at these. I think the hardest part is fending us off.

Huggy and Josie share a plate
Josie and Huggy Bear got first dibs at the cake.

Maggie noses in
But Josie was nice and quickly made room for Maggie to get some.

Jasper finishes his snack
I got my own bowl and impressed Mom by cleaning my entire bowl.

Happy Birthday Josie and Huggy Bear

I can't believe that it was four years ago that Mom and Dad found you two, and your brother and sister, outside our apartment sleeping on the stairs and handrails, just some of the cutest kittens ever. I knew Mom had fallen for Josie instantly. When they came in and joined our family I welcomed them eagerly. My life has been more full and I have experienced a more fulfilling version of family and love because they are my sister and brother.

Brotherly and sisterly love
Josie and Huggy Bear are very sweet, and were caught in a loving moment. We'll be celebrating their birthday today and hope to have some actual birthday pictures up tomorrow.

I love my brother
And here are Josie and Huggy Bear snuggling together as kittens.

Look how little Huggy Bear was ...

Huggy Bear on the couch
... and what a big mancat he's grown in to.

And then there's little tiny Josie. She was so so sweet, and loved this high spot on the second floor of the apartment walkway.

And now look at what a beautiful Ladycat she has grown in to. She watches out for all of us, the little mother of our group.

Happy 3rd Birthday Maggie!

Today is Maggie's third birthday! Now that she's three, Maggie insists that she is a big girl. But Mom told her that she'll always be her littlest baby kitten, no matter how grown up she gets.

Since Mom and Dad are gone on vacation, we want to invite everyone over today to help us cat-hair-up the house. Feel free to put cat hair on everything you can imagine. We want this to be a hair-raising party for Maggie! (Plus, we know Aunt Tish is a good person and will clean up for us so Mom and Dad don't find out...)

Now, since it is Maggie's birthday, and I'm a little proud of my sister, I want to show some of my favorite pictures of her.

Maggie's first portrait
This is Maggie's first portrait. Please don't be sad, even though her eyes are all infected. If she hadn't had the eye infection she probably would have found another forever home. So good things can come out of bad situations.

Jasper teaching Maggie how to sink
Maggie is a quick study. She has learned tricks from Me and Josie and Huggy Bear, like sleeping in the sink, or synchronized sinking.

On the cat walk
Even with just one eye she is the most agile and daring of the McKitten-Cats.

She's also pretty smart...
Maggie's a smart girl
She started playing Trivial Pursuits as a kitten...

Maggie getting the drop cloth
She even helped Mom and Dad paint (that's primer on the walls, by the way...)

Helping mom read her book
She even likes to read with Mom. See, smart from the start.

Maggie going through her alpine scratcher
Although I'm not sure if every move is smart ... I never figured out how she ended up in the hole of the alpine scratcher. I don't think I was ever that small!

She's pretty loving, too ...
Maggie loves her big orange brother
Maggie snuggling with me...

Awww, sisterly love
... and with Josie ...

Snuggle buddies
... and, of course, with Huggy Bear.

Finally, I think this is what Mom fell in love with first when she met Maggie...
Polka dotted belly!!!
... her little polka dotted belly!

There are only like 169 pictures of Maggie over on Flickr, so I'll stop here.

Thanks for coming and helping celebrate Maggie's 3rd birthday! (And for helping us spread cat hair everywhere... we'll be back visiting everyone's blogs again real soon, promise.)

P.S. It's also my Mom's birthday. She thinks it's neat that they share the same birthday.
