Rest In Peace little Daisy

I am so heartbroken to hear the sad news that Daisy the Curly Cat crossed the Rainbow Bridge. When it comes to the old school early cat bloggers who were around before the Cat Blogosphere Daisy was one of the "celebrities" of the blogging cats -- at least to us she was. She had such a sense of style, modeling clothes and even hats. And she was always so funny with her comics that she would post. I know her brother Harley will certainly miss her. But I also know that Jasper and Josie were waiting to greet her along with many other fans, and her sister Pixie. Rest in peace sweet girl. We'll miss you.

Vet results

I wasn't happy to be at the vet today but the results weren't as dire as I was fearing. She does think that in the early stages of kidney disease but my numbers weren't so bad that it caused a lot of concern. My white blood cell count was high so I'm on an antibiotic. They suspect that I may have a dental infection but they can't confirm it because of some of my gingivitis. So they are starting with the antibiotic and if that doesn't do it then I'll have to see a dental specialist.

I was given a special Urgent Care food from Hills that I actually ate some of. We'll see how I feel about it tomorrow though. I also have an appetite stimulant that I'm supposed to take every 72 hours. It is a tiny pill but still offensive to have to take.

Thanks for the purrs and well wishes. Keep em coming!

Purrs please

I've been keeping this under wraps because I was hoping things would improve and I'd start feeling better, but I've been having a hard time lately. I haven't been eating like I should and have lost a bunch of weight. So Mom and Dad are taking me to the vet tomorrow for a check-up. Here's hoping it is maybe a tooth or something simple. I'll be honest, Mom and Dad are very nervous. I'm nervous too. The McKitten-Cats haven't had the best luck the last few vet visits, unfortunately.

It started a while back when I started getting picky about my crunchy food. Dad found some good wet food, and then I went to kitten wet food, then human baby food (I really liked the ham for a while), and now mainly bisque or broth foods, kitten milk, and egg yolks. I also prefer for Mom to feed me by hand.

So please send some purrs my way. I like to smell food and did try to eat some Easter ham, so there's some optimism. But I'm just not myself at all right now. Thanks everyone.

17 years...

Today would have been Jasper's 17th birthday. It is hard to believe he's been gone for over a year now, and this is the second birthday he's missed. He was a great big brother, and taught us all (Mom, Dad, and us kittens) so much. On Tax Day we prefer to think about our Big Orange Boy instead of the dreaded taxes -- it's always better that way.

So happy

We love when Mom and Dad are home. Mom runs a community theatre and when they have shows going on Mom and Dad can be gone a lot. But they were home this evening and we are so happy to have down time with them. Life is just better when our people are home.
