The snuggle is real

Aslan and I are both good snugglers. We approach things a little differently. I am an aggressive snuggler. I will climb on top of you and get up under your chin. Aslan like to lay against your body and let you pet his chest and his belly.

Aslan loves to have his belly rubbed.

He will knead dough in the air when getting his pets.

I want to be on you. I like to lay across your lap or on your chest. The more upset you are or the worse your day is, the more I am going to climb on you. It's the empath in me.

Snuggling with Mom

Mom and Dad were out of town this weekend doing a bike ride with the MS Society (Bike MS Breakaway to the Beach). They got back Monday around noon, and the ac was acting up, so Mom was stuck at home today waiting on the repairman. That means that I got to do a lot of this:

It is very important when your people come home to snuggle up with them and make sure they don't go anywhere again soon.

Figuring out their game

So we're starting to figure out Mom and Dad's game. You see, the temperatures are dropping a little here. Not to the frigid temps that a lot of you are used to , but cool for South Carolina. And Mom and Dad have been sleeping with the windows open. Well, we start to get cool, so we end up snuggling with Mom and Dad in bed. I feel a little manipulated, like they're making it cool so we'll snuggle more. But it's also a bit of a win-win-win -- we get open windows and fresh air, we get to snuggle, and they get to love on us. So maybe it is a bit of a trick, but the intention is good, so I won't make a fuss today.

Mom time

Sometimes Mom and Dad get stressed out. Mom works for a non-profit, so you can image how it wears on her some days. I can't fix the things that stress them out, but I can do this:

Jeni and Jasper
And I think that's a pretty good thing to do.

Mom and Dad are home!

Mom and Dad made it home after their long trek to Ohio, then down to Mississippi and back home. They were helping Mom's Dad move so it wasn't really a vacation for them, even though they were away. We're so happy to have them home. Now it's time to catch up on the snuggling.

Maggie Snugglebug

Maggie was in snuggle mode all last weekend. She is by far the most snuggly of all of us, but that doesn't mean she's always a snuggler. But this weekend it seemed she couldn't get enough snuggle time. Saturday morning she curled up in Dad's lap for a good 20-30 minutes. There is no photographic evidence of this since the camera was out of reach, and since we're just not lap cats Dad wouldn't do anything to disturb her. But then later that day she curled up in Mom's lap and Dad was able to get a picture.

She was very sweet laying in Mom's lap. She rested her head on her leg, and then gave Mom a bath too.

Then Mom stretched out and Maggie curled up behind her leg in a spot just the right size for her.

I think maybe Maggie's been reading Dragonheart and Merlin's blog and seeing how they snuggle and cuddle and curl up in all kinds of warm places because after she got out of Mom's lap she nuzzled and burrowed into her orange blanket (yesterday's Wordless Wednesday). If her tail wasn't sticking out of the blanket no one would have even known that she was in there.
