Proper snoopervision

Sometimes proper snoopervision is necessary. I may be 11 years old, but that doesn't mean I can't start doing new things. Lately, I've really enjoyed getting on the bar portion of the counter between the kitchen and living room and snoopervising Mom as she works in the kitchen. This is her favorite work spot, by the sink and stove where the big cutting board is. She doesn't seem to like it too much when I come over and try to sit on the cutting board (I can't figure out why). I can't remember what Mom was fixing here, but I'm pretty sure I didn't get to eat any of it. (Mom's making a funny face at me in this picture because I was staring at her.)

Josie investigates

We had a stranger in the house on Saturday. The HVAC for the upstairs was acting up and the fan wouldn't turn off, so Mom and Dad had to cut the power to the heat, which wasn't all that great during the cold nights, except for the extra snuggling that Mom and Dad get from us. Fortunately the heat downstairs still works, and heat rises.

Well, when the stranger was in the house he opened a door in the closet ceiling that we didn't even know was there. There's a ladder that goes up there.


Josie is very brave, and considered going up. She even got a paw on the second step. Dad was right there with her and wasn't about to let her get much father up. There's just too much she could get in to. But then the guy started to come down and he made a ton of noise, and that was about the end of Josie's investigating.

They were back again today to put in the part that they had to order, so hopefully the heat is working again -- just in time for it to be 76 degrees.

Look what came out of the boxes

Those big boxes had some cool stuff in them ...


This is the entertainment center that was in the boxes, assembled surprisingly easy by Mom and Dad. But boy is it heavy! We've all been inspecting it. Josie decided to check it out while Mom played Wii Fit.


Maggie tried to find a good spot. Too bad it won't stay empty much longer.


I like to watch the yoga instructor on Wii Fit.

Huggy Bear isn't pictured because all the Wii Fit snoopervising wore him out, so he was asleep behind Mom.

Snoopervising on Saturday

This was me a few weekends ago, snoopervising Dad working in the yard. We'll be doing a lot of this today, because it's plant sale time in Columbia, and Mom and Dad have bought more plants. We have company coming for dinner tomorrow, so Mom wants everything to look just right. That means today will be a busy day for them.

Christmas wrapping

Mom was very busy this weekend wrapping presents. That meant we were very busy snoopervising.


I was in charge of the wrapping paper and the flat gift boxes.


Maggie was responsible for making sure the boxes were the right size.

Snoopervising

Mom and Dad have to go to Atlanta this weekend for a seminar for Dad. That meant that last night they planted the plants from the weekend before and cut the grass (finished in the dark, but it was the backyard).


I'm not looking at all this outside yard work as time away anymore. That's how I used to see it. Now I'm looking at it as an opportunity to snoopervise Mom and Dad. And I've been doing a lot of snoopervising, too. They make sure windows are open, and I'm there the entire time, making sure they do things right.

Mancat Monday

Snoopervising Mom is a very important job for a Mancat. Mom cuts the good articles out of her magazines and saves them in three-ring binders so magazines aren't just piled all over the house.


I'm helping Mom by napping in her metal basket that holds her articles. To the untrained eye, this might look uncomfortable, but it is actually just the right size and one of my favorite places to nap.

Finally Friday

It seems that Mom and Dad are requiring quite a bit of snoopervision lately. We've been doing all kinds of snoopervising lately ... wrapping presents (especially the ribbon), putting the tree up, making treats and party snacks ... you know, all the important stuff this time of year.


Here I am snoopervising Mom on the computer. See how I'm only partly blocking the monitor? That's me being good so that I can get some Christmas treats.

Mom and Dad will be doing a whole lot of cleaning and straightening in between a Christmas party and the Nutcracker ballet. We get visitors Monday, and more on Wednesday, including possibly two droolers (yikes!). I can't believe this time next week Christmas will be over. (And cold cats, don't be mad at me, but our windows are open today and we've been sniffing the air...)

Tabby Tuesday

Maggie was a big helper in the kitchen over Thanksgiving. We had dinner Thursday, then company came over on Saturday for a friend's birthday, so Maggie had plenty of opportunities to snoopervise.


Here's Maggie on Mom's stool. It's good to have a stool around to help Mom's reach stuff when Dad's long arms aren't available, or to sit on when you have to stir for a long time, but Maggie thinks this stool is a good place for her to snoopervise from.


Maggie tried to look pitiful so she might get some ham, but it didn't work (well, not until later when we all got to share some).

Mancat Monday

Mom was putting contact paper in the drawers of her six drawer chest she got from IKEA that she keeps her craft supplies in, so of course, being a proper Mancat, I came to help and snoopervise.


Here I am giving Mom an idea of how much paper she will need for the drawer: a little less than one Jasper-cat worth, I would say.


Oops, how did Maggie sneak into a Mancat Monday post? I think she just wanted to show off how much smaller she is than I am. If she had as much floof as me, maybe she wouldn't look so small...
