This blog has heart award

I received this very nice award from Pinky, Ash and Boo, the nice cats from The Fine Felines.

It is always so nice to be acknowledged with awards. I know I'm supposed to pass this along to six blogs. This used to be much easier, but as the Cat Blogosphere has grown and we have become friends with so many great cat bloggers out there, it is always difficult for us to pick just six for fear of forgetting one here or another there. So if you are reading this, it is because you have heart, and so does your blog, so consider yourself awarded, because you deserve it.

Thanks again, Pinky, Ash and Boo.

The Golden Awardy

Thank you Little Bunny (and everyone at Whippy Curly Tails) for the Golden Award! We're still working on our hiding skills. We aren't quite as good at hiding from the Boogeymanz and Bugbears as Little Bunny is, but we're trying. I hope you get a kitten to play with Little Bunny (and everyone else, go vote on whether they should adopt a beautiful little she-house panther).

I hope to have someone to pass this along to soon ... I'll keep my eyes out for good hiders and house protectors. And I love that this award in the shape of a bunny comes just in time for Easter!

Award

I got this nice award from Sweet Praline a while back and keep forgetting to post about it. Thank you Praline for my award!

As this award is explained:
"This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

I'm supposed to deliver this to eight bloggers, but I think this one has been making its way around a bit, and I have such a hard time narrowing down eight. I will pass this one to The Island Cats, Ms. P and Cinza, Jimmy Joe, Cheysuli and Gemini, Scooby Shaggy and Scout, Cliff & Olivia, Yaffa and Sebastian, and William & company. My problem is that I could just keep going, and I always have just one more, then another just one more to pass awards on to. If you weren't listed but feel deserving (and I'm sure you are) consider yourself awarded too.

Meme and award time

The Island Cats Wally and Ernie tagged us with the 8 Random Things meme. We're going to share like goods cats should and do two apiece.
Jasper:
1. I'm the biggest and oldest of the McKitten-Cats, but some days I still have a very kittenish expression and look.
2. I spend a lot more time upstairs than the rest of us, usually in the closet or the sink or hanging out at the top of the stairs.
Josie:
3. She is a very friendly cat and usually the bravest when we have company, but she is also the fastest to hiss at the rest of us.
4. At night, she likes to sleep under the covers against Mom's leg (and sometimes claw her leg as she kneads dough) and if Mom is staying up too late she will come and find her and tell her to come to bed.
Huggy Bear:
5. Although he is a House Panther, he likes to meez a lot, especially when Mom is fixing something in the kitchen.
6. He doesn't like to be alone, and if he's in one room and Mom and Dad are in another, sometimes he will cry for them and they call his name and he will bring them balls or mouses and purr excitedly when he finds them.
Maggie:
7. She may be the smallest and youngest, but she's also the bossiest, and she loves Josie, but she has a way of aggravating Josie and making her hiss come out.
8. She does machine paws on the window in the morning to wake Mom and Dad up, then will follow them when they are in the shower or getting ready in the morning and tries to help them eat their cereal, because she knows how important it is to start your day off right and not to oversleep.

Also, The Real Cats gave us an award.

Thank you so much for thinking of us. It is always so flattering to get an award.

I know I'm supposed to pass on both the meme and the award, but I want to get this posted and it is getting late and Mom and Dad didn't even get home until 11:00 tonight (explain that!) and I'm writing a bunch of run-on sentences tonight so I must need to sleep, so ::tag:: you're it! Sorry to cop out, I'll do better tagging next time, I promise.

Also, here's an article about writers and their cats.

Thankful Thursday -- Butterfly Award

Thanks Jimmy Joe for the great award ... I have been neglectful in not posting about it and thanking you sooner. It is a very cool award, and very pretty! (But a little distracting, because I want to hunt the butterfly...)

I know I'm supposed to pass this on to 10 other blogs -- I always hate this part, not because I don't think that there are some ultra-cool blogs out there, but more because I feel like someone will be left out.

I usually end up giving these awards to some of my "old school" cat blogging friends, so I'm going to spread this one around a little differently this time. Some are old school, some are newer (one's not a cat). All are cool...
Clover
The Island Cats
Shade
The gang over at Whimpurr's Whim
Adan and Lego
Sweet Praline
Yaffa and Sebastian and Dante
Artsy Catsy
Tybalt
The Cats Stephens
and Zippie, Sadie and Speedy

I was concerned about doing 10, and actually got on a roll and listed 11. I'm thankful for this award, and even more so thankful for great blogs to visit.

Tuxie Tabby Tuesday

The other weekend when Gracie and Clara Ann were visiting Gracie got out one of our feather toys. Even though it was being held by a little person, it is very hard to resist.

Gracie fishing for cats
Maggie (far side of the stairs) and Josie tried to divide and conquer, but that feather toy just keeps escaping every time., But don't worry, they'll get it one of these days.

Thanks Whimpurr's Whim Whiskers for acknowledging us with this award! It means so much for us to be recognized. We think you're pretty great too. You look a lot like our family, too, which is so funny...

Finally Friday

Thanks to Goldie over at Sumac Stories for the I Love Your Blog award. It means so much to receive these awards.

I think Maggie was trying to reveal something to Dad in her latest photo.

Maggie's Batman shadow
If you look at the shadow, it looks like Batman, so I wonder if Maggie is just a secret identity and that she's really a supercat? She does seem to fly around the house some days, fast as a speeding bullet. (wait, that's Superman, not Batman...)

It's finally Friday, Dad's half day and Mom's home all day today. Maybe Huggy Bear or I will try going for a stroll with Mom and Dad during the day, if it doesn't rain.

Thankful Thursday

We received two awards on Tuesday (Two for Tuesday?)

Thanks to The Island Cats for giving us the Gold Card award!

I want to pass this along to Ginger, William and Scooby, Shaggy and Scout because they've been there since the beginning.

Sweet Praline passed on the I Love Your Blog award.

I'm supposed to pass this on to seven others. (I hope I'm not overlapping anyone.) First, Gandalf and Grayson for their interactive Tuesday stories, Four Furry Cats for the Story Chair, Victor and Nina, Chase, Kaze and Latte all together, Diva Kitty and the buns, meep, Twizzler and Bear, and PB&J! I could link everyone, of course, because I love all of your blogs, but I had to pick seven.

And while we're giving thanks, how about a big "thanks a whole lot" to Dad, who told Mom about the dead lizard he found in the poop room. We have a boot mat that is supposed to be to put your muddy boots, but since Mom and Dad have no muddy boots they have it in front of the litter box to catch the kick outs. Well, we hid the "overplayed with" lizard under the mat so Mom wouldn't find it. But Dad was cleaning up and lifted the mat and there it was, looking like a used up toy. He grabbed it real quick in case it was playing possum (can a lizard really play possum ... good question for Daisy) so Dad grabbed it with a paper towel and put it in the bag with the scooped litter. "Tough guy" acted so quick that he didn't even take the time to get a picture of our big game hunting.

So the "thanks a lot" is because, now that Mom knows of a second lizard in the house, that means no garage time until it cools down some and the lizards find some other place to hang out. (We'll see how long this lasts ... I say about a week.)

Huggy Bear guarding the garage
Here's Huggy Bear guarding the crack that lets the lizards (and spiders and frogs) in. He's been like a gargoyle in the garage guarding the two edges of the door whenever he can get in there.

Huggy Bear guarding the garage with Maggie snoopervising
Maggie's always ready to help in the hunt, but she's giving Dad that innocent, "I'm just watching" look. Since we've been banned from the garage, now we're just staring at random corners around the house to freak Mom out until she lets us back in the garage.

Josie update, award & Thursday Thirteen #30: Weight control?

Thank you all for coming and checking on Josie and wishing her well and sending her purrs. She is doing better and squinting a lot less. Although she's not all well, she is showing improvement. Mom still worries, but I think she's going to be OK.

I need to thank Sweet Praline for giving me the cool cat award. I am so glad that I was the one to introduce her to the Cat Blogosphere and that she has had so much fun doing it.

I know that I am supposed to pass this along to five other cat bloggers, and I promise that I will, but I'm a bit distracted with worrying about Josie.

And now, for the Thursday Thirteen. I heard Mom say to Dad that, after she lifted me yesterday, she thought I was feeling a little "extra floofy" and that I "may have put on some floof" which concerns me because it sure sounds like diet talk to me. So for my Thursday Thirteen, I offer thirteen weight control issues...

1. There are two big boys, and two little girls in our house. If they put us on a diet, won't that mean that the girls lose out on their good food too?
2. We all know the ladies dig the extra floof.
3. I come from big cats so I'm actually just right.
4. What, do they expect me to exercise? If Dad can't get his happy heinie out of bed in the morning to do a few minutes on the treadmill, then what do they expect out of me.
5. More cat means more to snuggle with.
6. I need this insulation for when Maggie pounces.
7. If I lose weight I won't be able to do a widebody Wednesday post.
8. I'm trying to hang with Fat Eric.
9. I don't eat treats ...
10. ... I hardly eat stinky goodness ...
11. ... what could they take away?
12. Sure, I want to be healthy. Don't we all? Maybe we need to come up with a lifestyle plan for me.
13. Or maybe it's time to redefine "normal" cat size.

Arte y pico award

We are so honored, because we received the Arte y pico award from two great cats ... Tybalt and Diva Kitty. This award is about blogs that inspire you, and it means so much to us to receive it.

As we all know, there are so many deserving of this award. I want to pass this award along to a couple of bloggers out there who keep me going:
William
Ginger
and Scooby, Shaggy and Scout

Cool Cat Award

Special thanks to Diva Kitty & the Fluffies who awarded us with the Cool Cat Award last week. It is so special to be awarded with any award, but to be called a cool cat is really, well, cool. There are so many cool cats out there, and I could give it to everyone, but I really want to honor meep, because he is a pretty cool House Panther, but also Kellie the Orange Cat, and Chase, because they're pretty darn cool, too. Like I said, I don't want to exclude anyone -- we're cats and that makes us inherently cool. Thanks again to Diva Kitty & the Fluffies for thinking of me.

Mancat Monday and Excellent blog award

Mom and Dad got home last night, later than they expected, but they're here, and that's what mattered. Aunt Tish again did a remarkable job of watching over us. We had a bit of a tussle in the dining room, leaving a lot of black fur, but Aunt Tish vacuumed it all up before Mom and Dad could get home and bust us. If she keeps that up, maybe we'll be OK with Mom and Dad going away on weekend trips more often. Maybe.

Jasper's favorite chair
Here I am in my favorite chair. This might have been my wooden PhotoHunt picture had Mom and Dad left the computer on because the seat of the chair is wooden, but alas, no computer, no post... Like how I have my back feet kicked up on the post of the chair? I always have to be at the ready to spring or rabbit kick. I like to sit here and watch when Mom or Dad's at the computer.

The computer room is about to undergo an overhaul. The desk is old, and Mom's about done with it, so Mom and Dad got a new desk at Ikea when they were in Atlanta. It's bigger than the old one, which means more room for us to stretch out on. I'm curious to see what it's like, but I like the boxes in the garage right now.

Also, thanks Jimmy Joe for the award! We think you're pretty excellent too!

I want to share this award with some other excellent blogs ... I think everyone who dedicates the energy to maintaining a blog for as long as most of us have is excellent. I'm going to highlight William, Ginger, Timothy Dickens, and Scooby, Shaggy and Scout. These are four of my first blogging buddies and I think they're all excellent!

An award!

Victor Tabbycat gave us the I Love Your Blog award and we all couldn't be more honored.

I means so much to be honored and there are so many wonderful blogs out there that deserve recognition. I don't want to miss anyone, but let's see ... I want to give this award to Scooby, Shaggy and Scout, Daisy the Curly Cat (I'm sure she's collecting a few of these), Eric and Flynn (just love their adventures and mouse hunting), and Magoo, Smudge, Bella, Dolce and Baci. I could go on and on, really, and will probably come back and edit this to add more, but even if I didn't list you here, consider yourself loved.
