Snowy Christmas

This was the scene on Christmas Day. Snow here, in South Carolina.


I've seen snow before, being born in Illinois and living in Iowa for a few years, so I know what the stuff is. Mom and Dad actually thought they were funny when I was a kitten and put the leash on me and let me stand in the snow. I hopped around twice, then went back inside. I'm no fool.


Huggy Bear wasn't really sure what the stuff was. This is only the second time he's seen snow in his life. But that may change. The weather people are actually saying it may snow here this weekend or Monday. I'm not sure what's going on with the weather, but I think Mom and Dad moved to South Carolina to get away from the snow. I hope everyone is staying warm with this weird weather right now.

Mancat Monday

We were supposed to get snow last night, about an inch, which was enough of a threat to shut down most of Columbia. Dad covered all the plants that are now starting to resurface. But this morning -- nothing. But we'll be on patrol all day, just in case.


This was Huggy Bear on a sunnier day, showing off his whiskers in the sun. Today will be cloudier, for sure, but I expect he'll be in this same spot most of the day on snow patrol.

Mom and Dad made it back safely, but they had to drive through a monsoon to get home from the beach. They ended up staying an extra night, but that was OK because we had Aunt Tiff here with us. I'll get beach pics up this week (they're still on the camera).

Snow, are you kidding me?

For all you northern cats, don't laugh, but we had our very first snow since we moved here three years ago. Now snow for me is no big deal because I first lived in Iowa where it snowed all winter long. But for Huggy Bear, Josie and Maggie, it's their very first snow. They just can't figure it out what that white stuff is on the deck.

Mom says this tiny bit of snow will be gone in a few hours, so I need to go and sit in the window for a little while to enjoy it. I hope all the kitties that got a lot snow and ice are inside snuggled up with their mom and dad.
