Rest in Peace, Flynn

Our old friend Flynn passed over the Bridge on May 1. I'm just now getting a chance to post about it. He and his brother Eric were old friends, and gingers like me, so I always felt a connection to them and enjoyed watching their adventures. It was so fun to see them exploring their farm and hunting field mice. They would sometimes wear a camera that would photograph their trips around the fields, too, and I thought that was so neat. Flynn had been having health issues for a while, and even though he's re-united with his brother, I'm sad for his parents, and selfishly sad for myself because I'll miss him. Rest in Peace, old friend.

Rest in Peace, Gandalf

This is just too much in a short span of time -- losing another dear friend. I just learned that Gandalf from the Daily G's (Gandalf, Grayson, and Whitey) crossed the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. This, just on the heels of Q2, is just too much. I don't get to visit the blogs like I used to, but these were some of the cats I would visit regularly back when I was more active. I guess this is the side-effect of being around for a while, but that really doesn't make it any easier. So I'm just putting this out there -- two friends in a month is enough! Everyone else must stay healthy. No exceptions.

Rest in Peace, Gandalf. You will be missed...

Rest In Peace GJ

I just saw that our old friend Ginger Jasper crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I always liked Ginger Jasper -- it sort of felt like having a twin cousin out there. I will miss that guy a lot. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Rest in peace, Eric

We are so terribly sad about the news of Eric's passing. We have followed the adventures of Eric and Flynn for a good seven years, if not more. I don't get to visit the blogs as much as I used to, but when I do, his blog was one that always made the list. I loved watching as he would explore the countryside and dig for mice. I remember him hanging out on top of the hedgerow, and relaxing in their outdoor enclosure, and taking pictures with his camera on him collar. I really feel for Flynn, who lost his partner in crime. There's just an emptiness right now. We'll be purring extra hard for Flynn and his Mom and Dad. And I know we'll be getting some extra love from our Mom and Dad as we are all reminded how precious life is. Rest in peace, old friend...

Rest in Peace Vic

I was going to amend my spider post to add Meow Like A Pirate Day, because I scheduled that post the other day without looking at the calendar. But then I saw the news that Ann's husband Vic from Zoolatry had passed away yesterday, and it just didn't seem right to meow like a pirate this year. The Cat Blogosphere experiences loss frequently. It is the unfortunate byproduct of a large community and time. But because of the Cats With Blogs group on Facebook we have been there to experience the daily struggles of hospitals and hospice care along with them. Our hearts go out to Ann and all of Vic's family. We will be purring and praying for them.

RIP Gray

Our cousin cat Gray crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday. She was Uncle Doug and Aunt Cathy's outdoor cat, a master hunter of mice and birds (and the occasional bat). Uncle Doug put together a nice slideshow of this pretty cat. It is very sad, but the six-year-old did help lighten the mood at the hillside funeral -- when asked if he wanted to say any words, he replied, "Yes. She's gonna come back as a zombie cat." 

Mo Cats Day

I almost forgot today was Mo Cats Day! I can't imagine how boring the internets would be without us. I mean, really!?!

On a more serious note, we're sending purrs to Beau's family. His Mom passed away at 49 -- way too young...

In rememberance

We learned over the weekend that Edsel's Mom had passed away from brain cancer. It is so sad a heartbreaking. Edsel was one of the first cat bloggers we followed, back when there we so few of us that I could visit every cat blog I knew about in 20 minutes. I noticed a while back that she had stopped posting, then we heard she was sick. It makes us so sad. We get connected through the Cat Blogosphere with so many kind and amazing people. But we know she is at peace, and that Edsel and Casey are in good hands with their dad.
