Poor Josie. Mom has had to help shelter cats before like that and the results are never picture worthy.... :)
Our mom used to take her angel Chumley in a few times a year for shaving--his hind end and tummy, mostly. He'd come home looking pretty bad (would have been better to have had a lion cut), but he always felt better, and that was the main thing. Ditto for Josie!
It will grow back before she knows it. Caroline had two this summer, and she's such a screamy squirmer that Mom doesn't dare use scissors near her. She had to leave Caroline to take care of it on her own terms. (It finally came all the way loose just the other day!)
Tell Josie it's just fur. It will grow back as lovely as before!
Love is never having to say you're patchy.
