Watching TV with Mom and Dad

Every now and then Mom and Dad will break their routine and hang out in a different room. They got on a kick of watching Motive and were catching up on old episodes in the bonus room, which was great because that room has one of my favorite couches to hang out on.


Here I am on the back of the couch. I kind of blend in to this couch, so I can disappear and just chill out. It is a super comfortable old leather couch, and definitely one of my favorites. This room is also where the laundry is, so it's cool when I get to lay on sorted piles of clothes. (This is also probably why Mom and Dad don't use this room as much -- they feel they should be doing laundry if they are back there. But it has the best AC in the house, too.)

(Also, I can't believe it's been 11 days since my last post. I know I get out of the routine some, but I didn't mean for it to be this long...)

Mancat Monday

We haven't done a Mancat Monday in quite some time...


Here is Huggy Bear on the back of the couch enjoying some sun. It can be difficult to get a good picture of his face, but the light was perfect to see how handsome my little brother really is.

The many sleeping positions of Josie

Josie loves Dad. either that, or she loves the couch he sits on. I'm not sure, since every time he gets up she moves to his cushion. But I'm pretty sure it is Dad she loves. Lately she likes to get up in his lap, knead dough, then stretch out by his legs and sleep. The following pictures were all taken during one catnap.










I'm not quite sure what's going on here...








After all that, this is how she ended up, zonked out and asleep while Dad watched TV.

Ping Pong Cat

Mom and Dad went to IKEA last weekend to grab a few things. Mom ended up getting a small shelf and some spice jars to create a new spice rack in the kitchen.


It looks really good.

The almost bought some kitchenware with a cat playing ping pong. I'm not sure why they didn't get it. It sounds perfect to me.

Mom and Dad have been at the theatre a lot with the current show. They are doing Crimes of the Heart. It's a three-act play, so they get home later than we would like.


We need more snuggle-on-the-couch time. Josie loves to snuggle with Dad.


Maggie loves the corner of the couch. These pictures were from the other weekend when it was warmer and we stretched out more. The past few days have been colder, so we've been looking for good blankets to curl up in instead.

The play ends on Saturday, and we are counting on some good down time with Mom and Dad on Sunday!

Wordless Wednesday

Mancat Monday

There was a little bird flying back and forth through the deck the other day. Huggy Bear was quick to notice and hopped right up on the couch for a little cat TV. It was a short show, but a lot of fun to watch.

Easy Like Sunday

This weekend was a perfect weekend for watching the backyard squirrel.


The guy was back on the deck again, and Josie, Maggie and Huggy Bear were all at full attention to watch his antics. We might be seeing a lot more squirrel action. Mom and Dad spotted a squirrel nest high in one of the neighbor's trees.

PhotoHunt: Warm

Huggy Bear is demonstrating our PhotoHunt theme of warm today.


Huggy was enjoy the warm sunny afternoon on the back of the couch, bathed in a ray of sunshine. Although it was cool outside, it was warm right there.

Maggie Monday

Maggie is working on turning sleeping with Mom into an art form. She now spends the night snuggled up against Mom in one configuration or another. But most of her snuggling pictures come from on the couch.


Here she is showing the classic "Curled behind the knees with tail over nose" pose that I'm sure many of us are familiar with.


This is the less traditional "Lying on your back like a hotdog in a bun" pose.

Maggie wants Mom to lay on the couch and watch TV more so she can work on her napping positions.

Tuxie Tuesday

In a very curious reversal of behavior, when Josie sleeps in bed beside Mom, she sleeps under the covers. Meanwhile, Maggie will sleep at Mom or Dad's feet. But downstairs on the couch, as you saw yesterday, Maggie will sleep under the covers -- and Josie sleeps at Dad's feet.


Here Josie is just before snuggling down in the space between Dad's legs.


Josie is very polite, and will wait to be invited onto the couch with Dad (she never has to wait long).
