Mom and Dad are back!
Mom and Dad went to the beach last week, which is why it has been even longer between posts. They went down to Orange Beach, Alabama, which is near Gulf Shores. Can you believe they drove all that way and still didn't bring us any fish, or shrimps, or birds? And they had their chances. The beach was pretty deserted, so the birds visited Mom and Dad a lot. (Mom's not a bird fan, so she was not happy about this at all.) I do have some bird pictures that I will get posted soon. We're just happy to have Mom and Dad home, so we didn't even discuss bird pics last night. But they are coming!

Mom and Dad are back!
Mom and Dad made it back from the beach late Saturday night. They have lots of good pictures, including some of the vishus deer (and they did get a little vishus with each other). In the meantime, I found a picture that I forgot to share with you.

Dad has a tabby cat that visits him at work. He hunts the squirrels around the office and torments the birds like you would expect from a tomcat. And in the case of this picture, he was messing with a snake. Dad came back from lunch to see the cat getting something, and some large birds swooping around in the same space. Dad really thought the cat had found a baby bird, but when he looked closer Dad could see the coiled up snake. Dad really thought that the cat had killed the snake, but when the cat got bored with the snake and started rolling around in the parking lot, Dad saw the snake start to raise its head. That's when Dad decided the snake needed to go somewhere else. Dad found a long (long) stick and used it to toss the snake into the neighboring yard (there's a chain link fence, and the snake slithered through). The cat quickly hopped up and followed it. That's where the story ended for Dad ... snake away from his parking lot and his patients.
Don't look any further if you don't like snakes, but here's a close-up of the snake.

Ugh ... snakes! Another reason to be an inside cat.

Back home
Mom and Dad went up to their old stomping grounds in Knoxville, TN, to watch their beloved football team lose last weekend, but they still had a good time. They got back late last night and were pooped. All four of us piled in bed with them because we missed them so so so much. They're not going anywhere again for at least a few weeks, so that's good.
They drove home through the Smoky Mountains and got some really good pictures. Their really good camera's battery died toward the end, but fortunately they had a backup camera because they came across a field full of elk. Dad got some good pictures, but he sure wishes the better camera had a little power left in it. It's the first time the battery has actually run down, so you know it was a good weekend. The pictures will follow soon.

Back from vacation
Mom and Dad went on vacation and I didn't even get a chance to invite cats over for a house trashing party (well, let's be honest -- Mom and Dad left in a whirlwind so the house was pretty trashed to begin with). But they are back now. They went to a place called Fripp Island near Hilton Head. It is a populated island, but also a nature preserve so they had deer everywhere, but not the vicious kind. Aunt Tiff actually fed one deer by hand. The deer was named Number 12, which I think is a silly name, but Aunt Tiff was pretty excited either way. Mom and Dad also saw alligators like Daisy is always talking about, and they got to see a baby sea turtle finish its final 20 feet from the nest to the ocean (which doesn't seem like a lot, unless you are a baby sea turtle with baby legs). But they didn't bring us anything back -- no turtles, no non-vicious deer, not even the baby alligator they saw (OK, they can keep the gator). Mom did try to get us some shrimp, but the seafood market she went in stunk like bad seafood and she left quickly and bought some Wendy's instead. But we don't need souvenirs because we got to snuggle all over Mom last night while Dad was at the theatre making sure Cinderella's mic was on at the right times. (I understand there are four white mice at the theatre, so I made need to go investigate.) But I think the best part of getting Mom and Dad back from the beach is smelling all their beach-smelling stuff.

Mom and Dad came home!
Mom and Dad came home after a wonderfully beautiful wedding in Marietta, Georgia. They kept talking about some Big Chicken, which I'm very interested in. Any place that is famous for a big chicken is worth visiting. I'll make Dad get the pictures off the camera so we can all see, but he told me not to get too excited, that it's not the eating kind of big chicken. The weather was perfect for Dad's cousin's outdoor wedding. Despite a 70 percent chance of rain, it stayed dry when it needed to. Hopefully things will start to slow down for Mom and Dad soon so we can visit my cat friends more, and spend more time with Mom and Dad (and post pictures!).

Mom and Dad are home!
Mom and Dad went to the beach for a few days, and shut the computer down when they left, which is why I haven't been able to update or visit. I've never been to the beach, but I hear it's like a giant litter box right beside a seafood store. That sounds pretty good to me!

Mom and Dad are home!
Mom and Dad made it home after their long trek to Ohio, then down to Mississippi and back home. They were helping Mom's Dad move so it wasn't really a vacation for them, even though they were away. We're so happy to have them home. Now it's time to catch up on the snuggling.

Traitor Tuesday
So the traitors, I mean Mom and Dad, took off to the beach last weekend to "visit old friends" but when they came home there were more pictures of dogs than old friends.

Apparently there was an Annie dog that they took for a walk on the beach. Annie is a former Nashville street dog.

Annie was very sweet, according to Mom, and walked right with Mom. She does have a sweet face.

Then there was Miss Brown, who really resembles a wolf if you ask me, but is mostly German Shepherd. Miss Brown liked Dad because he sneaked and gave her a bite of his muffin food one morning.

And if Miss Brown wasn't big enough, there was Patrick, who is a BIG BOY. But very sweet and friendly.

And this is Pearl. Pearl and Patrick spent most of their time hanging out in the yard and on the screened in front porch. But they still managed to put their stink on Mom and Dad.

Because Dad came home with dog stink on him, I had to "give him the business" and got a little carried away with my back claws and did a number on his hand. Good thing he doesn't need his hands for work. What's that? He does. Oops.

But to prove than Mom and Dad were thinking of us while they were at the beach, they took this picture. It looks like an actual city sign.

And they brought back some seagull pictures, too, for us to get excited about.

Mom and Dad are home ... late, but home
Mom and Dad came home, finally! Their plane was delayed in Charlotte so their one and a half hour layover became a five hour layover and they got home around 11:45. But we know they love us because first thing they did was give us love, change our water and scoop our poop. Now it's time to get some more love. I promise a better post Tuesday...

Mom and Dad returned just in time for PhotoHunt: Water
Mom and Dad left Ocean Isle Beach late late last night, deciding to drive at night with less traffic and get home at 1:00 am instead of rushing to get up at the break of dawn and hurry home in crazy Myrtle Beach traffic. And they had perfect timing, because today's PhotoHunters theme is water. You know, this is our blog, and we like to restrict it to us cats, but we'll throw Mom and Dad a bone here and feature them, since they were at the beach.

Mom and Dad like to take one of these "hold the camera out and take a picture of yourself" pictures when they go on trips -- they're cheesy that way. There was an awful lot of water at the beach, but also a lot of sand to poop in, so I think we could live there in a pinch. Mom said she liked being at the beach, but missed us every day. She's pretty tan to have missed us too much, if you ask me.
And thanks to everyone who came to Maggie's birthday party. Aunt Tish came the next day and found out how clever we are. We managed to open the pantry door and raided the catnip, the toy basket and the bag of treats. Needless to say, she found a little bit of a mess, but it was fun!
