Look what came out of the boxes

Those big boxes had some cool stuff in them ...

Josie inspecting the new entertainment center
This is the entertainment center that was in the boxes, assembled surprisingly easy by Mom and Dad. But boy is it heavy! We've all been inspecting it. Josie decided to check it out while Mom played Wii Fit.

Maggie looking for her spot
Maggie tried to find a good spot. Too bad it won't stay empty much longer.

Jasper checking out the new TV unit, and the Wii Fit
I like to watch the yoga instructor on Wii Fit.

Josie snoopervising Jeni on the Wii Fit
Josie did a little snoopervising herself. "Go Mom Go!"

Huggy Bear isn't pictured because all the Wii Fit snoopervising wore him out, so he was asleep behind Mom.

Thankful Thursday

Today, I am thankful for items that come in huge boxes! The entertainment center that Mom ordered (5-10 days shipping) finally arrived after about three weeks. It came in three really big boxes. And let me tell you, it lived up to its name -- it was very entertaining!

Maggie and Josie exploring the boxes
Josie and Maggie explored all three boxes, and put there stink on everything. But they weren't alone. HB and I helped too, but the picture isn't uploaded yet. Hopefully tomorrow!

New furniture

We get a new TV cabinet delivered today, which means we'll hang out in the garage some when the strangers are here, and then we get to sniff something new, and put our stink on it! It also means that Mom will be home all afternoon with us!

Not happy at all

We're not happy at all, and let me show you why...

Cat visitor at Workshop
You see that -- dead center -- a cat coming to visit Mom while she was at the theatre yesterday. We have to stay home without our Mom, and this other cat gets to come and say HI and get Mom excited to have a visitor. Why can't we be the visitor, and hunt around the theatre for bugs (you know there's bound to be a bug or two) and explore all the cool high places? Come on, it has a CAT WALK -- for that reason alone we should be there.

Oh, and in yesterday's Wordless Wednesday, Maggie was sitting next to Huggy Bear, looking very cute on the step. But right before Dad took the picture she decided she'd rather go put her stink on Dad. So we just got the streak of Maggie's tail, and a confused Huggy Bear.

Snoopervising on Saturday

Jasper snoopervising the yard work
This was me a few weekends ago, snoopervising Dad working in the yard. We'll be doing a lot of this today, because it's plant sale time in Columbia, and Mom and Dad have bought more plants. We have company coming for dinner tomorrow, so Mom wants everything to look just right. That means today will be a busy day for them.

Great story ...

... but William, don't try this. Cat wanders from Albequerque to Chicago.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the nice birthday wishes! You are all so nice and such wonderful friends. I look forward to seeing what the next eight years bring.

You say it's my birthday!

Happy Birthday to me! I can't believe eight years ago I was born in a shelter in Moline, Illinois. I was the last of my litter to be adopted. My mother was a Manx, and Mom and Dad have decided my dad was a Maine Coon, which explains why I'm so big and like it when it is cool outside.

Jasper's 8th birthday "cake"
As is our tradition, I had a stinky goodness birthday cake in the shape of an 8. I just had a little nibble of it, then I shared it with Josie, HB and Maggie. My birthday wish is that everyone have a wonderful day. (Isn't celebrating my birthday a better way to spend this day, instead of thinking about taxes?)

Maggie Monday

Do you ever just get a little bored? Have you explored every corner of your house? I guess this is what Maggie was feeling when she decided to do this...

Maggie inside the pillow case
She crawled inside a pillow case to curl up on the pillow. I don't know if she was cold (it wasn't really cold that day) or if she was looking for a secret portal to somewhere else. But Maggie found a spot that was just for her...

Mourning Magoo

I am so sad for Magoo's family ... and so sad that I just saw the news. Dad saw a Magoo reference on Facebook earlier and hoped he was wrong. But Magoo has gone to the Bridge. He was the first cat we teleported to visit for a birthday party years and years ago. Magoo is an old friend to the Cat Blogosphere, and we will miss him very much.

Kitten rescue

Mom and Dad came home last night smelling like other cats and drooling dogs. We were tempted to be offended, but then we realized they had been by Midlands Kittens, a local feral cat and kitten rescue group. Mom and Dad delivered 144 cans of stinky goodness and 160 pounds of kitty litter. And they got to see some kittens that were born just minutes before they arrived. It was an exciting detour on the way home, but Mom may have caught kitten fever while she was there.

Sitting, waiting, wishing

Jasper enjoying some open window time
I'm just sitting by the window, waiting for the rain. We need the rain to wash the pollen away. It is so thick, we have footprints in the pollen that look like the moon landing.

I'm also waiting to hear the Sweet Praline is all better with her stitches out from her surgery the other day, and hoping that Daisy starts feeling better too. Good news today, good news, please!

Maggie's stroller adventure

Maggie had a very exciting stroller adventure last night. Mom and Dad were going on a late walk last night when they saw their neighbor out with a flashlight. It seemed the neighbor had company and someone let the cats out. The cats were in the back yard, fenced in, but two of the three cats are spry enough to leap the fence even without claws. They wrangled two, but the third was wandering around. So Maggie stayed in her stroller, keeping an eye out, while Mom and Dad helped search. The little stinker came back on his own after about five minutes of searching, but it helped reinforce why we stay inside, and get locked up when we have company. I'll still complain about not being able to socialize with everyone, but I'd rather be safely inside than worrying Mom and Dad (and myself) by exploring the outside in the dark.
