Midnight Mancat Monday
Fall is officially here. We know now for sure, because the windows are open.
Huggy Bear loves to sniff the night air. You just can't beat this time of year.

Finally Friday
It's Finally Friday! And this is a special Friday because it is our friend Sweet Praline's birthday. Happy Birthday Sweet Praline!
Mom has been spending a lot of time at the theatre lately (they have a BIG show going on), so we've been missing Mom and Dad a lot. So we're making up for lost time when they are home by putting our stinks all over them, and sleeping with them, and trying to share their dinner. (Huggy Bear even got some Arby's roast beast the other night.)
I hope everyone has a good weekend. Fall is here, which means hopefully we'll have more open windows soon!

Mancat Monday
Mom and Dad are so funny. They bought a neat looking collar for me the other day at Target. It was pretty, but for me? Really? Didn't they learn seven years ago when I was a kitten? Do collar can hold me.
Here I am showing off the collar. I like the colors. They go well with my furs. But there's a bell and Jack-o-lantern on it that I had nothing for. I mean, what's the point? Every time I move it jingles and bugs me.
This is my first attempt at removing the collar. I really wanted to put the bite on it, but I couldn't quite get my teeth on it. Mom and Dad went downstairs to watch the end of a few football games with Aunt Tiff. Less than an hour later, I came down with no collar on. I was very proud of myself, and hopped up on the coffee table to show Mom and Dad that I had won.
The collar was left beside Mom's side of the bed with a few magazines. I used my back paws to pop it off, like scratching a flea. Lesson learned.
Today is Dad's birthday. Mom has meetings tonight, so I'll be hanging out with Dad watching the Colts beat the Dolphins on Monday Night Football. Not a bad birthday present, if you ask me.

Thursday Tweet for Fin
Fin declared this week Tweet Week, all about birds. So I wanted to post one of the few bird pictures I have.
This is a duck coming in for a landing. Dad was out with our little friends Gracie and Clara Ann feeding the ducks, and this guy was coming to join the fun.
Happy Tweet Week!

Birthday wet food
Since Tuesday was Huggy Bear and Josie's birthday, we got some wet food. We normally just have dry food, so this is always a special treat.
You know it was good because Josie is ignoring the blue ball and eating the stinky goodness instead.
Maggie abandoned her own to investigate everyone else's. Then Dad tricked her by putting her's back down like it was new.
Huggy Bear enjoying his serving.
And me licking the last bits off the side of the bowl. This was some of my favorite, Fancy Feast Elegant Medley White Meat Chicken Primavera (it even sounds fancy).

Happy Birthday Josie and Huggy Bear
Today is Josie and Huggy Bear's 5th birthday! We were living in our apartment back then when Mom and Dad saw these four precious kittens. Mom fell in love with Josie instantly, and how couldn't you?
I know that tabby cat looks like Maggie, but that was Huggy Bear and Josie's brother Frisky. Maggie would come about a year later.
Here's little Josie.
I can't believe it's been five years. We are so lucky to have them in our family. I have grown as a big brother and become a more loving cat with their help, and I am thankful for that. I should have real birthday celebration pictures tomorrow.
Here's how the "old cats" are celebrating tonight...
Huggy Bear is sleeping under Mom and Dad's bed.
And Josie is sleeping under the guest bed/Aunt Tiff's bed.
Like brother, like sister. Real party animals, huh?

Mancat Monday
The weather has been getting nicer here, and it's starting to be open window weather! We finally got some open window time yesterday, one in the front and one in the back, so we could patrol in proper Mancat fashion. Although I remained inside, I understand there's someone I need to keep my eye on outside.
This guy is hanging out (literally) in the front flower bed. Dad says it's OK as long as he stays outside because he'll eat bugs. But I'm still keeping my eye on him. You can't be too careful.

Good news article
I like good news. There's enough bad news around that we don't need to share all of that, but good news needs to be shared. Here's a little article about a young cat who survived being buried under the debris of a fire for 26 days!

A visitor is coming? A new girl cat?
Mom told us that a new girl cat was coming and that she was going to be staying with us. She had us very nervous. First she's down visiting the "almost" brothers down the street, then she talks excitedly about this new girl. We didn't know what to think. Then she arrived ...
It was our Daisy figurine from Endless Whimy! Wheew! She's cute, and took a little attention from Mom, but at least she won't take our food.
We are very happy that we could help with this charity event, and get a cute little "Daisy" cat, too.
She's been hanging out with the little Isabel Bloom cat. I think they're going to be good friends.

Tuxie Tuesday
These are the neighbor's cats, Moochie and Zak. Remember back in the Spring when we almost had a new brother? That would be Zak in the background. It worked out really well that they moved down the street. Zak and Moochie have turned into nice brothers and like to snuggle together and play together. I'm glad these two big boys are down the street and not down the hall, even if they are cute.

Finally Friday
This has been quite a hectic week for Mom and Dad, so we're happy that today is Friday for them. They'll be visiting some family this weekend though, since it's a long weekend. Mom has a family reunion that they'll be going up to in Ohio.
The other day when Mom and Dad were making the bed, Maggie's blanket ended up on the floor. Maggie was quick to make a Cat Cave in the blanket.
The sun was hitting it just right for her to cuddle up in a nice warm spot.
I know Maggie prefers the blanket on the bed, but she didn't seem to mind having it in a sunspot either. I think this is how we'll be spending our Labor Day weekend -- cuddled up and resting. I hope everyone has a restful weekend, too.

Tabby Tuesday
Maggie is a firm believer in inspecting all the clean laundry, especially the towels. It's her secret way of putting her stink on Mom and Dad -- cover the towels in your stink and then they put it on themselves when they dry off. Which does make me wonder, if you're just going to dry off, why get wet in the first place?
