This is one of my favorite spots -- sitting on the scratcher at the very top of the stairs so I can watch the foyer downstairs, plus a full view of all the rooms upstairs. I am the sentry, I keep tabs on everything. And I can see when Maggie is trolling around in pounce mode.

Fizzy likes to do that too, sit at the top of the stairs and keep an eye out. It's a good place to perch.
We has a half-wall at the top of our entry stairs and we like to sit on top of it. Mom says we look like a bunch of vultures....
Being on the watch is a furry impawtant job!
Maggie probably can't get you there, though!
That sounds like the perfect guard-cat spot! My house has so many twists and turns, I have to do a patrol.
Scout does that trolling around too! He'll get all hyper and start darting here & there and we know the trouncing will begin soon. Luckily mom recognizes this and runs interference for us.
