I turned off the Word Verification on comments since some visitors seem to struggle with it. It was strange, I had to revert back to the old blogger interface to find the option. But I got it done. I hope this helps. I started using word verification because of the massive amounts of spam comments I was getting. If they return, I may have to turn it back on, or figure something else out. Thanks...

Try leaving the new messy word verification off, but enable comment moderation after 1 or 2 days. We think it was Jan (Jan's Funny Farm) who suggested this, because most spam aims at older posts.
Oh, also, don't allow anonymous comments on the blog. I changed that a while ago on ours and hardly ever get spam--knock on wood.
Yeah--most have comment moderation or turn comments off after one or three days. Good luck!

We have comment moderation for anything older than a week. We get 4 or 5 spam a week but blogger picks them up so they don't get published and we just delete them where they are held on Dashboard.
