Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween everyone! Be safe tonight as little people seem to like to get into mischief on this night. And maybe because it's a special night, we all might get an extra treat from our Moms and Dads.

Nap and bath time
All stacked up
Off again!
Mom has gone to help Aunt Tiff move and paint. Dad took her halfway and Aunt Tiff picked her up. We miss Mom when she's away because we don't have a warm person to snuggle up to. Dad is a good buddy, but he has to work. I think he should have taken Thursday and Friday off and spent time with us instead of working.

Back home
Mom and Dad went to a wedding in Nashville, TN this weekend and got back late, late last night. We were all so happy to see them. Maggie couldn't decide who she wanted to sleep on more, so she spent to whole night going back and forth from Mom's side to Dad's pillow.

Litter box cam?!?
Dad found the website Litterboxcam today while looking for "litter box solutions." Personally, I like my space in the box, but to each their own. It's not bad like Dad's imagination feared. As for "litter box solutions," Dad has an idea for when we get a house to give us some of our own litter box space and to keep the stink out of the house, but this is a work in progress. Mom wants on of those automatic scooping boxes. Does anyone have one of those? (When Dad thinks about those, he gets images of Star Wars and Princess Leia's rescue, but he's a geek that way...)
Maggie's collar
Maggie is finally just big enough to wear her collar. This is a relief for me, because I get a brief warning before getting pounced, and for Mom and Dad so they don't accidentally step on her. And it is cute yellow with flowers on it.

Hairball
Sure, Mom and Dad both agree that a game of Hairball is less fun than Football (but they still prefer it to baseball) ... either way, Huggy and I are in the middle of a contest right now. He is up 2-1, but my spittle from the other day is still under review. I'm arguing for at least half a point. Needless to say, Mom is not thrilled with being referee right now.

Helping make the bed
Here are Maggie, undercovers Huggy, and I helping Mom and Dad make the bed. It's one of our favorite chores. We love to get under the covers and chase the wrinkles and each other. As you can see Maggie is giving Huggy the business. I really just supervise, ah who am I kidding, I love to play in the covers.

Don't tell Mom
Boy! Dad could get in BIG trouble for this one ... it was a close call.
Today is a beautiful day and when Dad woke up, he decided to open the windows and let some fresh air in. Well, I guess Dad wasn't fully awake yet (we're cats, we can relate to that) and he opened the back sliding glass door to our little patio. Well, remember how we had dinner guests the other night. One of them had gone out back to smoke a cigar and didn't close the screen back, so when Dad opened the door and moved on to some windows, he was slow to realize the back door was WIDE OPEN! So he comes back into the living room and looks and his mind is trying to wrap itself around the strange image of Maggie looking INTO the living room from outside and Huggy being laid out under one of the chairs out back. Luckily, he sprung to action quickly, scooped them both up and shut the door. He did a quick head count (but that really wan't necessary -- Josie and I know better) and then took a few minutes to gather himself. He did praise Maggie and Huggy for staying on the patio and not wander off like they could have, but OH what a scary moment for Dad. Just don't tell Mom ...

Company for dinner
Mom and Dad had company for dinner, which meant we went into quarantine so that they could eat in peace. Initially, I was allowed to hang out and socialize, because I'm used to having visitors from when I was a kitten, but Huggy and Josie and Maggie were sent straight to the bathroom. Of course, everyone wanted to meet Maggie since she's the new cute one. One lady tried to visit with me, and honestly, I wasn't trying to be rude, but she smelled like dogs and cigarettes so I ran to the chairs around the table and under the tablecloth until Dad put me in their bedroom. The bedroom really wasn't a bad trade off -- with the others in the bathroom I had three hours of lounge-on-the-bed-in-peace-Jasper-time! After the people ate, we were allowed to socialize, and everyone commented on how big Huggy and I are, and how cute the girls are, and Maggie climbed up on one of the chairs and was given a little homemade whipped cream. I think we need to have company more often.

Maggie's collar
Dad put Maggie's collar on her the other day, and it actually almost fit because she's getting big (three pounds!) but since it is a safety collar, she managed to "safely" take it off. The funniest thing, she kept playing with her collar so Dad didn't realize she had taken it off for quite some time.

Midnight visitor
Maggie the jailbird ... er, jailcat
Maggie's comfy blanket
Maggie's orange foot
All smiles
Tail hair
Dad measured Huggy Bear's tail hair tonight because it's just so long. The hair measured out to be five inches long!

My new sleeping spot -- I wish!
Mom wrote about some great cat napping chairs on their "people" blog. Very cool ... I want one. I don't understand people money, but I don't think $320 is too much to spend on a good sleeping spot for me. Maybe if they win Powerball this weekend.
Midnight
There is an outside cat named Midnight who has visited in the past. He is a very pretty black cat, similar to Huggy Bear, but sleek. Well a while back he got in a bit of a scuffle and got a wound on the left side of his face just by his ear. It appears to be healing well, and Mom and Dad have been putting some food out for him every now and then to make sure he gets well nourished as he heals. Today, Midnight napped on the back porch and Josie, Maggie and Huggy all napped right by the back door with him. (I stayed on guard ... you know someone has to.)

A scary moment
Mom and dad went to Atlanta this weekend, and on the way down there mom had an awful thought that maybe Josie had gotten locked in the pantry. So mom called our friends Nick and Lindsey to come down and check and see if they could see Josie hanging out by the back door. Luckily they looked in the windows and saw her in the office sleeping in the sun. Boy o'boy mom was so relieved when Nick call and told her that Josie was out and about.
The reason why mom was scared that Josie was locked in the pantry is Josie loves to sneak in there and chew on treat bags. And mom was in such a rush to leave on Friday, she didn't do a proper kitty cat count. Three of us went to the door to say bye, and then once mom was relaxed in the car she started thinking about how she only saw three of us, then the worrying started. But everything turned out ok.

Snack time?
Getting bigger
I'm a helper
oh laundry basket
In our house laundry basket is one of our favorite places to be. We love to poke our paws through the holes and get someone. Maggie is learning the finer art of laundry basket from Josie. Before the kittens came along it was one of my favorite places to nap. But now the kittens pounce me when in there, so I have to head for higher ground for naptime.
