Kittens fired up
The kittens are quite fired up tonight and are all over mom and dad no matter what they are doing. I think it's their payback for going out of town.
Sorry I haven't posted recent pictures. They are coming... Holidays have kept me busy.

Licking the x-rays
So dad was on the computer and heard Josie licking something. He looked over and saw Josie licking some old x-rays of mom's that are rolled up next to the filing cabinet. He resisted the urge to lick it and see how it tasted. (She did stop, so it must not have been too good...)
Mom and Dad return
Mom and dad went to Mississippi for Christmas and left me to supervise these kittens on their first weekend alone. They did pretty good and didn't destroy anything (I'll take credit for that) but it sure is good to have mom and dad back.

Kitten report
The kittens took a nice little nap together and now they are terrorizing everyone. The have attacked the Christmas presents, gone after a few cords, and most recently, latched onto mom's leg while she tried to walk.

Kittens behaving nicely
The kittens are being so good. I'm impressed thast neither of them have tried to bring the Christmas tree down. Every once in a while, Bullet (aka. Huggy Bear, Baby Bear) will sit on the window sill next to the tree and bat at one of the limbs, making the ornaments jingle slightly. But dad will nicely place him elsewhere and he will go play with a ball instead.
Last night, both babies slept with mom and dad for most of the night.
The current issue is food. Bullet still likes to stalk mom and dad while they eat. At first, they would remove him and put him in the office with Josie so they could play. Now, they are just teaching him not to put his nose in their food. After a minute, he settles down and just visits. Josie has already learned that their food is not for her.
Mom and dad are struggling with us eating the proper food. Since I am a two-and-a-half year old cat, I usually eat Purina's Indoor Cat Food Formula. The kittens are supposed to be eating the Kitten Chow so they can grow big. Well, to mom and dad's frustration, I prefer Kitten Chow, and the kittens prefer Indoor Formula. Ahh... what are you gonna do?
Josie just finished a brief battle with the water dispenser. It appears she was inticed my the moving water in the jug, and decided to attack it. She got a little wet, but I think she's satisfied with her "victory."

Making mom happy
The kittens and I decided to make mom very happy, so today while she was still in bed, Josie curled up in dad's pillow, I curled along mom's back and Bullet cuddled up in from of mom and we all took a nap together. It made mom very happy.

Bullet comes home to stay
It is a mixed blessing. Bullet (aka Huggy Bear ... mom and dad are flip-flopping on names right now) did not get adopted this weekend and it looks like this will be his new home. No kittens were adopted from Pets Inc this weekend, and there were some really cute ones there, too. But the fortunate thing is that Bullet now has a home, with us. It was one of those situations where mom and dad felt that they should make him available one last time, and if he did not get adopted, then this was meant to be. So were are excited to welcome him officially to the family. (I do say him lightly, because one of the ladies at the shelter referred to Bullet as "her" so who knows?)

In the plant
The perk of being the older cat is that mom and dad understand that it is a transition having these kittens around and forgive me some things that the kittens would get reprimanded for. The other day, after mom and dad moved the lily back to my "cat stand" to get it away from the kittens, I decided it looked like a good place to nap. Hey, the kittens sure were having fun in it, so why not me?

Bullet wears the Santa hat
Bullet to camp
Tomorrow Bullet goes to camp to try to find a home. He is the last of the litter and such a loving kitten with an amazing purr, a curious nature and a cuddly personality. If he doesn't find a home this weekend he will find one here. I've grown accustom to having him here and he plays very well with Josie. Mom and dad have grown fond of him too.

New game
Since Josie and Bullet have free roam of the apartment now, they have created a new game to play with dad. It's called "Water the plant." They get in the peace lily and lay down on it, in essence smashing it flat, and dad gets the squirt bottle and "waters the plant" until they get off of the lily. They seem to enjoy it because they keep getting in the plant.

Josie and Santa
And then there was one
Frisky got adopted today by a lady with another cat who was looking for a playful kitten to join her cat. She hit it on the nose with Frisky. That just leaves Bullet. He's very lovable. Mom and dad are going to make a little "adopt me" sign for next weekend and hopefully that will get him adopted. They hate that he'll be there by himself, but I don't think he'll be there long. In the meantime, he'll be playing with Josie.
Adoption day?
The kittens went back to camp yesterday. Mom wasn't too happy about their location, but they are at child level so maybe that will work to their benefit. The people at Pets Inc said that the holidays is their prime time for adoption so we are hopeful the boys found a home this weekend. Dad told them to purr and lick and be cute, which to do, so hopefully someone will take them in. They deserve a good space for them to call their own.

Josie and the tree ... with gifts!
Josie's rough day
Josie had a bit of a rough day. Her brothers are off at camp hoping to be adopted by a good family, mom vacuumed, she got sprayed because she was in the Christmas tree, and Sophia visited and tormented her. I am thankful for having a cute kitten around because the kids want to cuddle her and leave me in peace.
Sleeping
I slept with mom and dad in bed all night. That's a big deal for me because I've never been much of a bed cat. But last night maybe I was cold. I curled up at dad's feet and for a while Josie was sleeping against his pillow.
Plastic bag
Mom was playing plastic bag with Josie and me in the kitchen. It was pretty funny watching Josie because she would chase the bag, then when she got it mom would slide her behind the bag.

Frisky's purr
Frisky is being a stinker. Mom is trying to read a magazine and Frisky keeps getting her. He is purring so loud while gnawing on her that you can hear him across the room.
Bullet's growl
Bullet has developed this funny little growl. He has a purple fuzzy ball (one of my favorites, but that's ok) and when he is playing with it, he growls (sounds like a little rumble). He will walk with this ball in his mouth and just growl. None of the other kittens are threatening to take it from him. I think it's his way of "getting" the ball.
Momma cat's back
Momma cat is back on the prowl. She is hanging out around the apartment and exploring the woods out back. I just hope her guardians had her fixed because I'm not sure I can handle any more kittens around here.

Kittens go to camp
Mom and dad took the two foster kittens to "camp" for adoption yesterday. They are very hopeful that at least one will find a good home. The boys have their purrs turned on real loud, and they have been cleaning mom and dad when they hold them, so hopefully this will win someone over. They got a very large cage, so they have room to roam and play.
Josie slept on dad's pillow all night, and purred when he woke up. She even cleaned his nose and cheek and ear lobe. (I think she really just wanted to eat his ear.)
I'm starting to feel better. I haven't gotten the hairball up, but I'm moving around better and am more active.

Snuggling with mom
Are you their father?
Cozy nap spot
My napping spot
Sleeping with dad
Josie is a cuddling cat. I'm not really. I'll let you love on me, but in a more traditional cat fashion, I keep it on my terms. I want to be near you. Like if mom is laying on the couch, I won't be in the crook of her knees. I'll probably be either on the floor at the foot of the couch, or curled up on the other couch. Josie, on the other hand, is another story. She prefers to lay with mom or dad when they are in bed. She likes dad's pillow (see previous pictures). This morning, she was laying on dad's pillow, curving her body against his head and shoulder.
Mini exam
Dad broke out the stethoscope today and listed to me. He's not a vet, but from his understanding of anatomy, he decided my heart soounds were good, my lungs were clear and that I did have bowel sounds (borborygmi -- one of dad's favorite diagnosis words). Now if I could just get this hairball up (or down ... at this point I don't care which way).
