Back deck visitor

We had that little black cat visit us again Tuesday morning. Dad was sitting in the living room having his cereal when he saw the little cat stretching in one of the chairs on the deck. The little guy (guy? girl?) came over to the back door and posed for a few pictures (to be posted soon). Maggie wanted to let him in so they could play, but that wasn't an option. Maggie and Huggy Bear stared at the little cat for a bit, then the visitor wandered off. Dad resisted the temptation to give him some of our treats. He certainly looks friendly and like he has a forever home somewhere.

The problem with a new toy

New toys are great, they really are. There's only one problem -- ownership.

Josie with the nip sardine
For example, here's Josie with a fresh catnip sardine from our Secret Paws. But you can see Maggie entering from the right.

More tussling
Then here's Maggie saying, "Let's discuss sharing that catnip sardine."

Maggie pouncing Josie
And finally, right before Josie ended negotiations by taking off to the living room. Although she did remind Maggie, "You've got to sleep sometime..."

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Mom and Dad have been helping with the play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at Mom's theatre. This has kept them very busy. They got home at 4:30 am last night! At first I was very excited about a play about a cat, until I learned that it's actually a human who is called Maggie the Cat, and that there's not even one cat in the show. And why would any cat being on a hot tin roof to begin with? If it's hot, you should be inside with the air conditioning. But Mom and Dad seem to enjoy it, even without a real cat.

Ninja Cats

Yes, we are all secretly in training, but the secret is out now...

---

I turned off the Word Verification on comments since some visitors seem to struggle with it. It was strange, I had to revert back to the old blogger interface to find the option. But I got it done. I hope this helps. I started using word verification because of the massive amounts of spam comments I was getting. If they return, I may have to turn it back on, or figure something else out. Thanks...

Go in peace, Twizzler

We are full of sadness today knowing that our dear old friend Twizzler is crossing the bridge this morning. We began following his blog back when it was Buzzerbee and Meep, then Twizzler and Bear, and now Fwanklin and Jack and Gracie, too. Theirs has always been a welcoming house full of love for all the cats who have come and gone -- you can see it in their pictures, in the way they snuggle, and in their posts. We will be purring extra hard for Twizzler's family, knowing that this is such a hard thing to have to do. The big guy has kidney failure -- the same thing that took Mom's first mancat Fluffy. But Twizzler is loved, and is going on his own terms -- and really, what more could a mancat ask for? Twizzy, go have fun with Buzzerbee, and Meep and Bear. You couldn't ask for better company.
